DO I NEED A PASSPORT TO TRAVEL TO NEW ZEALAND?

Yes.

All tourists entering New Zealand must have a valid passport with at least six months of validity. No visa is required if travelling on an Australian passport.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY FLIGHTS?

We suggest you book your flights at the earliest availability. Flight release varies by airline but typically they are made available ~353 days prior. 

For international flights it is advisable to book a return ticket, which would mean 353 days from your return date.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

The south island and Queenstown can vary greatly, however, we expect the weather to be ~15C during the day, and cool at sundown. Please bring a jacket!

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Te Anau is an approximately 2 hour drive from Queenstown. As such, you should arrive in Queenstown by no later than Thursday 26 September 2024.

HOW DO I GET TO TE ANAU?

Te Anau is a scenic 2 hour drive from Queenstown proper. It is a sealed highway. This means you will require a car, Queenstown has all major car hire companies available.

WHERE CAN I DINE IN TE ANAU?

For guests staying in Te Anau and surrounds, there are a breakfast, lunch, and dinner options for dining. There is also a supermarket in the town itself; this website has some good information.

On the recovery day, if you wish to dine at Fiordland Lodge for lunch or dinner, the resturant will be available. Please let us know if you would like to dine and we can pass this along to management.
